LG Ready to Launch Mobile processor "Odin"

Second largest smartphone manufacturer from Korea, LG is rumored to be launching a new Android smartphone later this month. Interestingly, the first smartphone will be carrying the LG developed their own.

Odin is a processor System on a Chip (SoC) for mobile devices from LG, like Qualcomm's Snapdragon or Samsung Exynos.

Reported KompasTekno from ZDNet (10/20/2014), a source in LG said it will launch a smartphone with a processor Odin in recent weeks.

"The launch of the new mobile devices with processors developed Odin LG itself is near," so that the light source in LG anonymity.

However, sources said that the LG smartphone with Odin processor is a derivative of their G3 line of smartphones that LG has just launched.

Not sure whether that Odin processor smartphone LG will be sold in the global market or only available in Korea only. LG spokesman also refused to comment on these rumors.

Odin was developed on the basis of the ARM Cortex A15 architecture (as in Tegra and Exynos), and supports Full HD resolution with multi-core processor configurations.

The processor has been developed since 2012 and LG. However, during this LG experiencing overheating problems (overheating) and greedy power consumption in the processor.
