Officially exhibited to the public on September 10, the iPhone 11 Pro Series certainly brings more sophisticated hardware components when compared with its predecessor, the iPhone X Series.
Even so, it was rumored that the internet speed on the iPhone 11 Pro was actually not faster than the iPhone XS.
In fact, in this digital era, internet speed is one of the main focuses when someone buys a cellphone.
Then, is that really true or just to drop Apple's big name alone? Come on, find out the answer through the following full article!
iPhone 11 Pro Slow Download?
While most tech reviewers only focus on the camera and the features of the iPhone 11 Pro, there are other things that are just as important.
That is the internet speed produced by Apple's latest premium device.
Priced at a relatively high price, it turns out that the iPhone 11 Pro has LTE performance that isn't good enough.
Through an LTE performance test conducted by the PCMag site, even the internet speed produced by the iPhone 11 Pro is below its predecessor, the iPhone XS.
From the test results it is known that the iPhone XS is capable of producing an average download speed of 76.43 Mbps, while the iPhone 11 Pro is only capable of speeds of 64.03 Mbps.
This is certainly a pretty surprising thing for many people, especially fans of the iPhone HP.
Considering there are many people who only blame SIM card providers without knowing the internet speed capability offered by their device.
The components of the iPhone 11 Pro modem are less sophisticated?
Weaknesses in Apple's premium device also then invited many public questions about the components used by the iPhone 11 Pro.
Because logically the components embedded in the iPhone 11 Pro should have better performance than those used by Apple on the previous generation iPhone.
iPhone 11 Series itself uses an Intel XMM 7660 LTE modem with a frequency of 1000MHz which is the last generation modem launched by Intel before they finally announced leaving the cellular modem business last June.
Meanwhile, the iPhone XS still uses a previous generation Intel modem, the XMM 7560 with a lower spectrum; 800MHz.
So far, the modem components used by the iPhone 11 Pro device are still superior to those used by the iPhone XS.
Comparison of Iphone and Samsung Internet Speeds
The download speed test conducted by PCMag continues by comparing several iPhone phones with the latest HP from Samsung, Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.
From the test results, the download speed generated by the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is far superior when compared to other iPhone devices.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is capable of producing an average download speed of up to 100.81 Mbps,
iPhone XS 75.38 Mbps,
iPhone 11 Pro 49.47 Mbps,
iPhone 11 44.83 Mbps,
iPhone XR 42.28 Mbps, and
iPhone 6 21.77 Mbps.
The resulting download speed is based on the use of T-Mobile providers in the New York City area.
Then, why Apple's HPs can be defeated by the download speed of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+?
One thing that is most clearly seen is because the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ uses a cellular modem made by Qualcomm which already supports 5G networks.
Meanwhile, the device made by the iPhone itself does not yet support the 5G network so it is not able to produce faster download speeds.
Conclusion
Well, that was information about the iPhone 11 Pro which is rumored to have internet speed that is faster than the previous generation, the iPhone XS.
Although it has used a newer modem component when compared to the one used on the iPhone XS, but it was apparently not enough to make the download speed of the iPhone 11 Pro faster.
